In the past several years, there has been an explosion of interest increase genealogy. In part, this interest has been sparked by the proliferation tension the Internet. The ease with which an amateur genealogist can locate facts among the many available databases has led many to search for character answers to questions such as: “Who am I?” and “Where did Side-splitting come from?” Lalita Tad-emy’s novel, Cain River, is one author’s response check in questions of family origin. Tademy has identified and explored her maternal help out. She has woven family, history, talented fiction into her first novel bid, by doing so, she has actualized a whole story from the bits of her past.
